1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the UK School Finder app ("the app"), provided by Better Humans Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17449229), registered office 90 West End Road, Ruislip, HA4 6DS ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. The app

UK School Finder is a free app that helps you find and compare schools in England using information drawn from official and publicly available sources, including the Department for Education and Ofsted. It does not require an account, and your shortlist and notes are stored only on your device.

3. Information is for general guidance only

The information in the app is provided for general guidance and convenience only. While we take care to use reputable official sources, we do not warrant that the information is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. Data such as Ofsted ratings, exam results, catchment and cut-off distances, admissions criteria, transport options and your estimated "chance of a place" may contain errors, be incomplete, or be out of date, and figures such as cut-off distances and admission chances are estimates based on historical data and are not a guarantee of a place.

Always verify important details — including admissions criteria, catchment boundaries, cut-off distances and application deadlines — directly with the relevant school and local authority before making any decision. The app is not a substitute for official admissions guidance.

4. No professional advice

The app does not provide legal, educational, financial or admissions advice, and nothing in it should be relied upon as such.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• copy, scrape, extract or republish the app's data or database, in whole or in part, except for your own personal use;
• reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, except to the extent permitted by law;
• use the app unlawfully, or in a way that damages, disables or overburdens it or interferes with others' use; or
• misrepresent the app or its data, or use it to mislead others.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and the way information is presented are owned by or licensed to Better Humans Group Ltd, and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app in line with these terms and the app store's terms. The underlying school data originates from third-party and official sources and remains the property of those sources; our use of it does not transfer any rights to you.

7. Third-party content and links

The app may show third-party content (such as maps and school logos) and may open third-party destinations (such as a school's website or your map app for directions). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of third-party sites and services, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

8. Availability

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the app, or its data and features, at any time, and we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Our responsibility to you

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or the information in it — including any decision made on the basis of that information. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — this includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law or your statutory rights as a consumer.
